Please remember to those who choose your own adventure books? When I was a child, I brought them home from the library in stacks and poring through each explored every possible option, any adventure seen through the end.
My kids recently discovered your own adventure Select series to find in a thrift shop, and they were blown away by the options and choices; through the Amazon trekking, paddling a snake-infested river down, the story ends early with an unhappy journey over the cliff edge. They love to be in charge of their own history. What a great ability to take with you through life!
While before my university degree a few years finishing, I was familiar with the Choose Your Own Adventure-like scenario for all students faced. What now? I had a number of directions I could go. Most of them contain a typical 9-5 in a working office, on payroll someone else; I was not convinced that was for me.

- What I want to be when I grow up?
- How can I spend my days?
- How can I use my skills in a productive way?
- What is my dream job?
- And above all, how can I make that dream a reality?
These were the questions I asked myself. I began to answer these questions by looking looking my priorities and tasks and find a way to work around these items to fit, not vice versa, as the traditional model.
Finding Balance
Some of us with care help for elderly parents and grandparents. Some of us want the freedom to travel. Some of us train for triathlons or other sporting disciplines, and need time to devote during regular working hours. (Not I, by the way. Just in case anyone asks.)

What I wanted in my work and private life the most was the flexibility to manage my family without being stretched to the breaking point; something that many working parents experience. I want to be able to take a day off when the kids are sick. I want available to pick them up after school and hang out to gymnastics and dance classes, or just on the beach. I want to have time in their classrooms or on field trips volunteers.

Build your ideal life
I do not believe that life happens to us. I believe that we make it happen. I am an active participant, the main character, hopefully the hero of my own story. There is no "I can not possibly this happens", only " How I can happen?" If you are starting your own business with and work from home, what you want, you can make it happen. Through your priorities to determine and decide what you want out of life, you have taken the first steps to prepare the dream a reality.
